From working on satellite operations for Lockheed Martin to studying sleep patterns of astronauts on the International Space Station while running quantitative analyses for fantasy baseball, and then on to do sabermetrics for the St. Louis Cardinals. Sig Mejdal built an algorithm for predicting the performance and stats of baseball players that would contribute to the Cardinals drafting more players who became big leaguers than any other organization over the next seven seasons. From the Cardinals Mejdal moved to the Houston Astros where as Director of Decision Sciences he has helped revitalize the team transforming their farm system into one of the best ranked in baseball.
Boston Red Sox - Hitting Coach
After a ten-year playing career Tim Hyers moved on to work as a scout for the Boston Red Sox, then served three seasons as their hitting coordinator followed by a stint as interim hitting coach. Following a season off Hyers returned to MLB full-time as assistant hitting coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2016 and 2017 seasons when the Dodgers offense set franchise records, won Division titles, and NL pennants. Now as hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox Hyers is leading the way in developing players on an individual level and is artistic in his ability to help players process information, understand their patterns and their vulnerabilities, and simplify the data needed to propel and enhance their performance.
